Looking for an authentic Soviet experience? Here it is. Feast on the chaos of check curtains, gold and brown floral carpeting, green and pattern velour sofas; this style of décor will make you shut your eyes and go to sleep:).
The large, 20-storey Belgrade Hotel Moscow was built in 1973, and is located not far from the spectacular Interior Ministry Stalinist skyscraper on the Garden Ring. The Belgrade is a typical Soviet-era three-star hotel, although since 2002 it has been undergoing renovation, and the hotel's refurbished rooms conform to international standards. Unrenovated rooms at the Belgrad, although very basic, offer some of the cheapest accommodation in central Moscow.
