Ministry of Transport Building



Krasnie Vorota Skyscraper considers being one of the most elegant from all seven buildings. The Ministry of Transport Building is 138 meters tall and located in the highest point of the Garden Ring. This skyscraper was built in 1949-1953 by the architects A. Dushkin, B. Mezentsev and engineer V. Abramov.

The entrance and exit of the Krasnie Vorota metro is located in the building. From the metro station Krasnie Vorota (Red Gate) you can get out of the tower, which is located on Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street. Subway is located here since 1935 and metro station was built by architect I. Fomin.

This building was created as a commercial and administrative one. In the central part of the building are massive pilasters; the tall spire is at the very top. All of these add a lot of dynamism. Ministry of Transport Building combines classic elements and ancient Russian motifs. This building is located on the northern part of the Garden Ring, and dominates them.
